We’ve already experienced our first big victory in Michigan, where courts just ruled that a 2018 legislative overturn of a ballot measure that would have raised the minimum wage to $12 an hour and ended the subminimum wages for tipped workers, workers with disabilities, and youth was unconstitutional – making One Fair Wage the law in Michigan! But we’re not stopping there – we’ve collected over 600,000 signatures to put a $15/hour ballot measure on the ballot in Michigan in 2024 – with many more states to come!

To take advantage of this historic moment, One Fair Wage Action is working with an impressive coalition of organizations, celebrities, donors, elected officials and others to lead the 25 * 250 Campaign, to advance bills and ballot measures in 25 states by the United States’ 250th Anniversary (2026) that will both raise wages and end subminimum wages and mobilize millions of workers to vote through the process.

In 2022, we are kicking off the campaign with ballot measures to raise the minimum wage and end subminimum wages in Michigan, Washington, DC, and Maine. In 2023 we will be continuing to push legislation for One Fair Wage  – a full minimum wage for all workers with tips on top – in New York, Massachusetts and Illinois. And many more states are about to follow!
